Iris Corp which had its contract for the National Integrated Immigration System terminated by the current government has now filed a notice of arbitration under the Asian International Arbitration Centre.
The group was awarded the billion ringgit contract when it received the Letter of Award in 2021 issued by the Home Ministry awarding the tender to IITS, however, it then was issued a Notice of Termination in 2023 with regards to the NIISe Project
After receiving the notice, Iris did mention that it would be taking legal recourse in relation to the termination, the group has now via its solicitors, filed a Notice of Arbitration under the Asian International Arbitration Centre arbitration rules 2023 to refer the disputes with the Home Ministry arising from and in connection with the NIISe Contract to the AIAC for arbitration.
The group said it firmly disputes the termination of the NIISe Contract and is taking necessary actions to protect its interest and exercise its legal rights in relation to the NIISe Contract.
