RATP Dev confirms the successful launch of CasaBusway’s two new bus rapid transit lines, Bw1 and Bw2, in Casablanca, Morocco, enhancing urban mobility for residents and tourists alike.

RATP Dev, the operator of exclusive right-of-way public transport services in Casablanca since 2012, has announced the successful launch of the two new bus rapid transit (BRT) lines, Bw1 and Bw2, as part of the CasaBusway network. This innovative addition to Casablanca’s public transportation system promises to make urban travel smoother and more convenient for residents and tourists alike in Morocco’s commercial capital.
The inauguration of the CasaBusway marks a significant milestone in the longstanding partnership between Casa Transport and RATP Dev, which began with the launch of tramway lines T1 in 2012 and T2 in 2019. Over a decade later, the introduction of the CasaBusway seamlessly integrates into the existing public transit service, catering to the evolving needs of Casablanca’s population of over three million.
The Busway lines provide a modern and fast mode of transportation, complementing the existing tramway network. With 42 accessible bus stops designed for people with reduced mobility, the CasaBusway facilitates seamless connectivity with the tramway lines, offering enhanced mobility options for commuters.
The dedicated lanes of CasaBusway Bw1 and Bw2 ensure faster travel times, with buses operating at a frequency of every five minutes and thirty seconds during rush hour. Equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring tools, the buses and bus stops enable real-time tracking of journeys, ensuring a high level of service quality and reliability.
The CasaBusway prioritises safety, comfort and environmental sustainability. The buses are equipped with highly efficient motors that minimise energy consumption, aligning with Casablanca’s environmental commitments and promoting eco-friendly urban transport solutions.

The aim is to make urban travel easier thanks to this combined service, in close collaboration with RATP Dev Casablanca, which is in charge of the operations.”
In addition to operating the CasaBusway, RATP Dev Casablanca oversees the operation, maintenance and development of the city’s tram network. In total, 102 trained drivers will be deployed as part of the new BRT network.
Following a thorough trial run in 2023, RATP Dev’s teams have verified the operational readiness of the CasaBusway service, ensuring that staff are well-prepared to deliver a reliable and efficient transportation service to the people of Casablanca.
