Geely’s Lynk & Co car brand will launch its mobile phone, developed jointly with Meizu, later in September. The official name of this cell phone is Lynk & Co Phone Pro, the company’s sales GM disclosed. The latest Lynk & Co cars have Flyme Auto OS on board, which is highly compatible with Meizu phones. This integration will be further amplified by the launch of the Lynk & Co phone.

Nowadays, a few automakers have jumped into the smartphone business. The best example is the Chinese startup Nio, which already sells its smartphone (Nio Phone) domestically. Another Chinese brand with Sweden heritage Polestar also announced its entry into the given segment. Now, Lynk & Co also dips its toes into the cell phone business. The main reason for this is the creation of ecosystems around a car. The main goal here is to merge a smartphone with an in-car infotainment system.
Lynk & Co Phone Pro details
Today, the Lynk & Co sales GM (and Senior VP of Geely Automobile) Lin Jie shared a photo made with Lynk & Co’s first cell phone. According to an information block in the picture, the official name of this product is Lynk & Co Phone Pro. The shot was taken on a 24-mm wide-angle camera with an aperture of f/1.9, a shutter speed of 1/50s, and a light sensitivity of ISO911.

The camera specs of the Lynk & Co Phone Pro are similar to the Meizu 20 cell phone. So, Lynk & Co’s product is most likely based on that Meizu smartphone. We will remind you that the Meizu 20 has a 6.55-inch screen, a 50 MP camera, and up to 12 GB RAM, thanks to the Snapdragon chipset.
Our regular readers know Geely acquired the Meizu phone maker in July 2022 as the latter was suffering from some financial difficulties. Together with Meizu, Geely developed the in-car system Flyme Auto. This OS already powers infotainment systems of a wide range of Geely-made cars like Lynk & Co 08 (see specs), Geome Xingyuan, etc. Last year, Lynk & Co cars began displaying in Meizu flagship stores. So, it’s not surprising Meizu will become the contract manufacturer of Lynk & Co Phone Pro.
In August this year, Lynk & Co officials revealed they are working with Meizu on making the Lynk & Co branded phones. Their first product was said to be unveiled in September. There is a possibility Lynk & Co Phone Pro will make the official debut today (September 5) as the Lynk & Co Z10 electric sedan launch is scheduled for this date. We will keep you informed!

It is worth mentioning Meizu is also moving into the car business. The company officials said that Meizu Automobile would launch this year. Its first car will be an electric sedan (DreamCar MX) based on the Geely’s SEA architecture.
