Avatr 07 Ultra and new Avatr 12 started deliveries in China to amplify sales
Avatr 07 Ultra crossover and 2025 model year Avatr 12 liftback with optional EREV powertrain started deliveries in China. They aim to amplify the brand’s slow sales.

Avatr is a joint brand between Changan, CATL, and Huawei. It was initially a pure-electric brand, with the first model launched in August 2022 (the Avatr 11 SUV). In 2023, Avatr launched its second model, the Avatr 12 liftback (see specs). However, the company suffered from slow sales. In January-September 2024, the CATL-backed brand sold less than 30,000 units, reaching only 27.4% of its annual sales target. This is 19.6% lower than the average sales goal achievement rate among Chinese NEV makers.
In late September, Avatr launched its third model, which is the Avatr 07 mid-size crossover aimed to rival Zeekr 7X (see specs) and Tesla Model Y (see specs). Priced between 219,900 – 289,900 yuan (31,000 – 40,850 USD), it offers BEV and EREV powertrain variants. After the launch, Avatr began deliveries of Avatr 07 Pro and Avatr 07 Max trim levels. They boosted the brand’s sales to 10,056 units in October, over a third of the January-September volume. Now, Avatr is planning to further increase the pace by starting deliveries of the top-trim Avatr 07 Ultra crossover, and the 2025 model year Avatr 12 liftback.

Avatr started deliveries of the Avatr 07 Ultra and new Avatr 12
On November 4, Avatr started deliveries of the Avatr 07 Ultra crossover and the 2025 model year Avatr 12. The Changan and CATL joint venture is proud of the speed of the new Avatr 12’s delivery. It was officially launched on November 2, so it took Avatr two days to hand over cars to customers. Recently, the Geely-owned Zeekr brand also showed an impressive pace by starting deliveries of the Mix minivan a day after the launch.
Speaking about the Avatr 07 Ultra, it took over a month to begin its deliveries in China. This delay was caused by key component supplies of this model. Unlike other trim levels, the Avatr 07 Ultra packs dual-motor 4WD, air suspension, and 21-inch rims.
Briefly about Avatr 07 Ultra & new Avatr 12
The Avatr 07 Ultra is a mid-size SUV with dimensions of 4825/1980/1620 mm and a wheelbase of 2940 mm. Its all-electric variant has the CATL-made LFP battery on board for 82 kWh (610 km CLTC range). It powers two e-motors for 440 kW (590 hp). The Avatr 07 Ultra EREV has a CATL’s Freevoy battery for 39 kWh (220 km CTLC electric range). Thanks to the 1.5-liter ICE under the hood, its mixed range reaches 1,050 km. The 07 Ultra EREV adopts dual-motor 4WD for 362 kW (485 hp). The price range of the Avatr 07 Ultra is 279,900 – 289,900 yuan (39,500 – 40,850 USD).

The 2025 model year Avatr 12 boasts hefty dimensions of 5020/1999/1460 mm with a wheelbase of 3020 mm. The EREV variant of this liftback has a 1.5-liter ICE and a 231 kW (310 hp) electric motor. It has a 39 kWh Freevoy battery for 245 km CLTC. The mixed range reaches 1,155 km. The all-electric Avatr 12 also got a minor update. It is available with RWD for 237 kW (318 hp) and 4WD for 402 kW (539 hp). It has a single battery option for 94.5 kWh ternary NMC battery for a 705-755 km range. The price range of the Avatr 12 is 269,900 – 429,900 yuan (38,000 – 60,600 USD).
